Successfully lobbied for the creation of the Yale Jazz Initiative

  • YUJC featured in the New York Times

  • hired saxophonist Wayne Escoffery to teach a jazz improvisation course

  • introduced three jazz combos directed by Escoffery and New Haven bassist and Yale alumnus Jeff Fuller (Stiles ‘67, YSM ‘69)

In 4 iterations starting in 2014, taught 100+ middle and high-school students about jazz history in Yale Splash course

YUJC organized a virtual student concert to fundraise for the Arts Council for Greater New Haven’s Creative Sector Relief Fund, designed to benefit artists without work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
